Bronze Hunter Figure on a Black Marble Base

Description

A striking French bronze hunter sculpture depicting a youthful archer holding a game bird aloft, with his bow lowered at his side. The upright pose and finely modeled physique give the sculpture a strong, confident presence.

Contrasting gold, reddish-brown and darker patinated tones highlight the figure’s features, drapery and hunting attributes. A textured ground supports the figure above a circular black marble base, providing a substantial foundation.

At 18 inches tall, this handsome sculpture makes a distinctive accent for a study, library, mantel or console. The subject draws on the longstanding artistic tradition of depicting hunters and archers through idealized human form.
