Description

An imposing pair of French Empire style marble pedestals, featuring richly veined green marble surfaces and elaborate gilt colored mounts. Tapering shafts rise to square display tops, while symmetrical arrangements of ribbons, garlands and flaming torch motifs ornament the fronts.

The Empire style developed in early nineteenth century France during the Napoleonic era, drawing on the architecture and decorative vocabulary of ancient Greece and Rome. These pedestals recall that taste for formal symmetry, strong architectural shapes and richly contrasting materials.

Ideal for framing an entrance, balancing a drawing room or displaying sculpture and decorative urns from our Rancho Santa Fe showroom, they introduce height and a commanding sense of occasion. Their green and gold palette also brings depth and distinction to a formal office or reception room.

Measurements: Each 54½″ high; base footprint 13¾″ × 13¾″
