Description

A striking pair of decorative tusk form sculptures known as mosaic bone tusks. These are not actual elephant tusks, rather just in the shape of tusks that have been crafted from assembled sections of bone. Their sweeping profiles are covered with detailed dragon imagery, cloud scrolls, floral motifs and geometric borders, extending to the coordinating pedestal bases.

The decoration draws on the Chinese dragon’s longstanding associations with power and protection. Contrasting tones emphasise the surface detail, while the paired silhouettes create a balanced, architectural display. Made from mosaic bone rather than elephant ivory, these sculptural objects offer a distinctive focal point for a substantial desk, library console or collector’s cabinet within our Rancho Santa Fe decorative accessories collection.
