Extra Large Antique Persian Isfahan Carpet with Ivory field, Ruby & Deep Blues

Description

An impressive antique Persian Isfahan carpet, distinguished by its grand proportions and finely articulated floral design. A warm ivory field provides a luminous backdrop to an intricate arrangement of scrolling vines, sweeping leaves and elaborate palmettes. Ruby red, deep blue, muted sage and soft golden tones lend richness and definition to the beautifully balanced composition.

Rather than relying on a dominant central medallion, the design unfolds across the field in a continuous ornamental rhythm. A magnificent broad border, filled with alternating floral forms and curling foliage, frames the carpet with a sense of architectural grandeur.

The fine hand-knotting gives clarity to the delicate drawing, inviting appreciation both from across a room and at close quarters. Measuring over sixteen feet in length, this substantial piece would make a distinguished foundation for a grand drawing room, formal dining room or generous reception space. Its ivory ground brings lightness to its scale, while the richly colored ornament pairs beautifully with antique furniture, polished timber and understated upholstery.
