Slender branches spread across the composition, filled with pale blossoms and finely detailed leaves in sage green, soft blue and ivory. Smaller flowering plants gather around the tree’s base, creating an abundant garden effect. The design recalls the medieval millefleurs tradition, meaning “a thousand flowers,” in which intricate plants and blossoms filled the background of decorative tapestries.
