Hand Carved Marble Lady with Floral Wreath and Bird

Description

A graceful new hand carved marble lady sculpture, sculpted with a gently inclined head, softly gathered hair and a wreath of orange blossoms. Her contemplative expression and delicately positioned hands lend the sculpture an intimate character, while a small bird perched beside her shoulder adds a charming detail.

Pale flesh tones contrast with warm orange drapery and a richly textured green gray skirt. Deep folds create movement throughout the composition, falling toward bare feet and a rounded stone base.

The figure recalls the European tradition of idealized classical sculpture, in which flowers, birds and classical dress convey beauty and an affinity with nature. The expressive pose and polychrome stone details allow the craftsmanship to speak for itself.

At more than five feet tall, she makes a memorable focal point for an entrance hall, drawing room or courtyard within our Rancho Santa Fe sculpture and accessories collection. She can also be placed outdoors as solid marble withstands the elements, serving as a sculptural conversation piece with warmth and grace.
