Large Oil on Canvas, Autumn Landscape

Description

A vibrant oil on canvas capturing a woodland landscape at the height of autumn, with golden foliage, russet red leaves and a quiet winding waterway. Slender pale tree trunks rise through layers of yellow, amber, burnt orange and deep green. The lighter central clearing draws the eye into the distance, while richly textured foliage frames the scene on either side.

Expressive brushwork gives the landscape movement and surface interest, suggesting the changing light and abundance of the season. The composition draws on the enduring landscape painting tradition of bringing the beauty and atmosphere of the natural world indoors.

Presented in a substantial dark ornamental frame with a contrasting pale inner edge, this generously sized painting would make an inviting focal point above a sofa, console or fireplace.
